Amazon.com Review Multi-taskers, take heart: this digital timer/clock lets you keep track of four different tasks simultaneously. Each of the four channels can be programmed to either count up to or down from 100 hours by seconds, with four separate alarms (one to four beeps, corresponding to the four channels), so that you can time tonight's dinner, be alerted for an expected business call in the morning, tune into a favorite television show two days from now, and time your child's oral book report all at the same time. The clearly marked buttons are straightforward to use, and a switch on the side lets you choose between the clock and other functions. A pocket clip, stand, and magnet add to the convenience of the device, which measures 2-3/4 by 2-1/4 by 5/8 inches. Hearing impaired users will appreciate the flashing `flags' that say "Time's Up," when the alarm goes off, and "Over Time," when the timer begins counting up after the alarm first sounds. CDN covers the digital timer with a five-year warranty against defects. One button battery is included for operation.--Ann Bieri

Just one caveat... December 18, 2008 No doubt, for the multi-tasking chef this is it. Pie in one oven, turkey in the other, rice simmering on the burner, etc., you will love this thing. Clip it to your apron, stick it to the stove with its magnet or free stand it. Perfect for the easily distractable chef with lots of company. One caveat... They only last a year or so but maybe that's because I use them hard. I've owned at least 4 in the past and am buying another 4 right now(2 for me and 2 for stocking stuffers)because when the one I own dies, I'm lost. I wish they lasted longer but as long as they make 'em I'll keep buying 'em. I've tried others, no comparison. Do yourself and someone else a favor, get two. One for you and give one to a friend.
Best timer ever November 24, 2008 I have owned a lot of timers in my time and I have settled on this one, since it appears to be a clear notch above all others I have tried (about 5 or 6, at least). I now own four: one at work, two for my and my wife's meditation and one for the kitchen. It is not necessary to need to time 4 things simulaneously to find this timer handy. I usually time my cooking for 5 min, 10 min, 15 min or 30 min, so it is simple to switch between. If I need to time for 7 min, then I just hit the preset for 5 and add 2 minutes to it without losing the preset. It is that easy. It is intuitive and easy to set the times or instantly change them on all four timers. As for switching between modes, it is unecessary to switch away from the program mode, if you primarily do countdown timing for cooking, etc. The only change I would request would be to have it powered by the easy to find AA or AAA batteries, but so far I have been always able to track down a compatible disc battery.
Awesome assistant for any project October 28, 2008 I had one of these for years when something in the battery compartment didn't fit snug anymore. After finding it again online at Kitchen Kaboodle for 19.95 including shipping, I am back on track!
Excellent for multi-tasking October 28, 2008 This digital timer is an excellent tool for busy multi-taskers. You can have up to 4 different alarms going at once. I've used it in the kitchen, setting different timers for different dishes. (Now I no longer burn my food while watching TV or reading a book!) I've used it at my desk, tracking how long it takes me to do something (the "count up" feature), or giving myself a "time to stop" reminder (the "count down" feature). And I've used it at writer critique meetings to time each person's share of brainstorming time.
An excellent tool with many uses!
A very useful tool September 30, 2008 This timer provides a way to time as many as four events at once. It is easy to use and the display is large enough to read easily. It has a couple of features I most likely will not often use, if ever, but it most certainly fulfills the purpose for which it was purchased, which was to help me keep up with multiple cook times. Furthermore, it can stand on a counter, its magnet allows you to stick it onto a metal surface, or you can use the clip on the back to attach it, say, to your shirt pocket for portability. I'm pleased with my purchase, and I consider it worth what I paid for it, so I highly recommend it.
