The miniature Ibis is sized to boil water for one. Its modern Scandinavian design makes it an attractive office companion for boiling water to make tea or coffee. And, with its reasonable price, this kettle travels well to college to make instant noodles in a dorm room. Made of heavyweight polypropelene plastic with a copper-sheathed, nickel-plated heating element, the Mini Ibis holds a maximum of 27 fluid ounces of water (about 3-1/2-cups). It must be filled to a minimum of 7 fluid ounces--just enough to cover the heating element--to operate. Plugging the unit in and flipping up the switch below the kettle's handle turns on the power. The heating process is rapid and quiet: it takes only 4 minutes to boil 27 ounces of water and the sound is almost imperceptible. For safety purposes, the Ibis automatically shuts off after boiling and has a locking lid to prevent spilling and a frosted handle for a secure grip. --Cristina Vaamonde

I purchased this water kettle because as a tea drinker, I was tired of using the hotel room coffee pot to make a cup of funny tasting tea when traveling. This model boils water super fast, and although originally purchased for travel, I use it every day.

I stopped using a microwave and the mini ibus from Bodum is just what I needed. It heats water quickly and shuts off automatically so that I don't have to wait for it to finish.

I've had this for well over a year. Works great, I use this on locomotives every day at work. I use this to boil water for coffee and oat meal etc. love the size. I am ordering another before they discontinue this model, can't beat the price. It takes about 10 minutes to boil but this is with a 74 volt system.
Very Pleased, Perfect for Office January 27, 2008
Even when you just run water through our coffee pot at work it still tastes like coffee and I don't like coffee. So I wanted a small kettle that I could have on my desk and just heat enough water for a cup or two without it taking up too much space. It is small, quiet and efficient.
