Sooooooo thick and soft and warm! January 5, 2009 I bought this duvet along with two of the matching shams for my 4 year old son's bed. I paid like 17 for the duvet and 11 for the two shams. I feel I got a great deal considering I was replacing an llbean duvet that I wasn't impressed with for the price I paid. I am much more impressed with the Pinzon duvet and it was less than half the price! It is much thicker to me and with the matching shams which I use as just pillowcases for his bed (because they were so cheap), it makes a lovely set. I just use a random fitted flannel sheet with it and he's good to go. It is so warm and cozy in there when I'm reading stories to him at night! This was my first Pinzon bedding purchase and I will be buying more for his and our room, we LOVE the flannel up here in WA! One more thing, the sham fit the pillows very snug which I felt was a plus because it made the pillow more fluffy. And with a sham instead of a regular pillowcase, you don't have to be shaking the pillow back into the case always when straightening the bed. The duvet was such that the buttons were hidden.
Lovely! January 5, 2009 I ordered the king-size comforter cover and shams for myself after Christmas because they were steeply discounted and Amazon offered free shipping. My package was delivered within 2 days...The first washing left a surprising amount of beautiful blue lint in the dryer filter, and I discovered that my comforter isn't actually king-sized....but, those are the most negative things I can think to say about this product. Oh, and the dog and cat refuse to sleep anywhere else but on my bed now.
These flannel cover and shams are heavenly. A nice solid weight to them, good quality and the colors are yummy. I've taken to reading in bed instead of on the couch, just because I like the feel of my new covers. I did not expect to like flannel so much.
I bought this duvet in december because I needed a cover for my white down comforter. December 18, 2008 I bought this duvet and after it came I washed it and it washed perfectly without piling .I love it it looks great on my bed and it keeps you warm when you are cold. I recommend buying it if you like blue and green flannel .
Great, but not really Blackwatch Tartan December 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have to agree with the other two reviews. I own some other duvet covers from a large mail order merchants known for its flannel sheets. These compare very well to ones from from them at a lower cost.
Trust a Scotsman!
Now, I also wear the kilt and have tartans in my kilt wardrobe, which makes me a tartanphile. I prefer my duvet covers to be tartan than just plain, or any other pattern than tartan. So, you can disregard the rest of this review if you are not too picky about what tartan graces your bed.
On the other hand, this isn't a proper Black watch. I did have to admit that I was chuffed to see the white stripe, hoping this would be Forbes (my tartan). On the other hand, this looks more like some sort of Lamont: kind of a dark ancient version of the tartan. That means the picture is sort of correct, but the blue is a hair darker than it looks.
I would have loved it if these were Forbes Tartan since a Kinloch-Anderson Forbes Duvet cover runs around US$500.
Nevermind, these are a great deal at this price and I am glad I bought 4 of them!
Sheds a Little December 13, 2008 It arrived on time and looks nice. It does shed though on sheets and the duvet itself - now covered in black/blue fuzz. Washed it first and it still shed. Still I like the way it looks. Very warm and soft.
