Bought this to match cannister set purchased. It is huge and holds lots of butter. Very happy with purchase.

Was looking for something to replace the broken butter dish that came with our refigerator when it was new.
This dish is nice, but fairly large for use as a table serving piece. Biggest problem, the dish arrived busted in upteen pieces due to poor packing by Amazon. I returned it for credit.

This is well made but a little too big for me. It can fit 2 sticks of butter, which some might find handy.

I got this butter dish in ivory. It was just as pictured, and goes well with my other tableware. This is my first butter dish, so I am naturally very excited. It seems to do its job: it holds butter. Oh, a warning that this dish will NOT hold European style butter, because it is too big to fit in the dish. If you get European style butter, you'll have to cut it up into American sized pieces to put in the dish. If you don't know which kind of butter you have... you probably have American so don't worry about it.

This is a nice, solid ceramic piece. It is heavy, however, and the color (burgundy) was brownish and dull. I returned it. I may try the same item in Ruby, and see if it has better color. The heavy stoneware should hold the coolness necessary to keep the butter at just the right consistency.
