I love this machine. But I have discovered something. You can use regular freezer bags if you just cut the top zipper off. It works great especially in a pinch.
Better than the new and improved Smart Seal December 14, 2008
This style of vacuum sealer is much more user friendly than the new and improved "Smart Seal". This unit has a manual button for sealing and it seals every time, no jocking around to trigger the sinsor to get it to seal. I am going to buy a second unit to keep just incase they discontinue this model.

I gave this to my Mother as a gift. She couldn't use her old machine anymore due to not having any strenght in her hands to hold it down. She loves this one because it does everything itself. I have no first hand knowledge of how it works but Mom likes it.

I bought this product as a deal of the day 3 weeks ago,I just got around to trying it today,and I was very disappointed to find out it does'nt work,its loud and it does'nt vacuum at all.I hope I have good luck with customer service. I"ll call monday.I think I"ll stick to buying appliances locally.
