Product Description From the ManufacturerPinzon is proud to present the Penguin Wine Opener--a reliable and easy-to-use wine opener. Simply follow these easy instructions to use the foil cutter, wine opener, and stopper, and you'll be opening bottles in no time.To use the Pinzon Penguin Foil Cutter: * Position the circular foil cutter over the top of the bottle. * Press the sides of the cutter in lightly and twist a couple of times around the bottle. * The foil top neatly removes to expose the cork. To Use the Pinzon Penguin Wine Opener: 1. The sleek Penguin is designed to effortlessly remove a wine bottle cork. 2. Raise the lever and clamp the Penguin down over the neck of the bottle. 3. Grasp the rubberized inserts securely with one hand to hold the bottle steady. 4. Use the other hand to lower and then raise the lever in one smooth motion. (Although you cant see it, the corkscrew enters and pulls out the cork.) 5. With the lever up, lift the Penguin off the bottle. The cork will be inside the Penguin. 6. Lower and raise the lever again, and voila! The cork slides off the corkscrew. Note: The Penguin can be used to open wines bottled with regular corks, but careful use is advised when opening bottles with synthetic corks. To Use the Pinzon Penguin Stopper: * The stopper preserves for days on end the bouquet and flavor of a partially consumed bottle of wine. * Plastic ridges on the stopper collar help provide an airtight seal.To Replace a Cork Screw on the Pinzon Penguin Opener: * Raise the lever and find the largest of three Philips screws in the body of the Penguin. * Unscrew the largest Philips screw to release the cork screw. * Pull out the Penguin screw and insert the replacement into underneath the lever. Then, re-insert and screw in the Philips screw where it was removed from.Cleaning Instructions: * Wipe clean with a damp towel and let air dry. Do not put into dishwasher.

Oh why didn't I get one for me? February 19, 2008 I ordered this for my Newly wed daughter whose cork screw opener had broken.
Yesterday I had the pleasure and rare opportuiny to spend time with my first born. I love my son in law and I am sure he loves me but they are still on their Honeymoon. Me? I am just going stay on the side lines and await the results!
Now back to this marvelous tool. I wanted wine with dinner and she whips this out. It is the first time I had ever seen it. She started rave about the wonderful little Item I had added to her Christmas list. Her friends were all impressed with this little gadget and wanted one too. I picked it up and followed the directions; Wow with no exertion I had uncorked the wine in mere seconds flat. I have a rabbit type tool and have difficulty holding the "ears" and I need real strength to push and pull. The exertion was totaling absence with this Penguin opener. I like it, just mad at the price they are asking now and it's retired? I might have to break my vow on getting stuff at whole sale prices.
Wine Stopper December 17, 2007 The wine opener is great, easy to use, love it. I purchased 3 gift sets & 2 of the 3 wine stoppers broke after the 2nd or 3rd use.
A must for wine lovers December 2, 2007 Comes in a nice package, but the fluff aside, the thing works, and works well. For wine lovers, and gadget lovers, it's the must have wine opener.
It beats using a traditional cork screw, and having to pull, and push, and uncork, etc.
I'm very impressed by it.
mmanuel November 29, 2007 This is a FABULOUS winer opener. We got it as a X-mas gift and was one of the best gifts we received. We raved about this opener to other wine drinkers and come to find out it is so fabulously affordable which is even better. I have spent more money on other openers and didn'twork as well as the Pinzon. This is a smooth opener. Try it and you will love it.
looked pretty, broke fast November 21, 2007 I bought this because it claimed to work on synthetic corks and it looked stylish. It worked well for a relatively short time before it broke, with its corkscrew awry and one wing that fell off. The product seems flimsy when one handles it, and it proved flimsy within six to eight weeks after my purchasing it.
