Yes, it really does live up to all the hype June 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We went to a party several years ago where the host had a Screwpull. Before the night was over, people were opening bottles of wine just to get a chance to see the Screwpull in action. Yes, it really does live up to all the hype. If you've ever struggled to get a bottle of wine open with a traditional screw type opener, or if you've ever had to pick bits of cork out of your wine, you will love this opener. It truly makes opening bottles of wine effortless. The minute I got home from the party that night, I got online and ordered one. I have never regretted it, nor the price I had to pay. It was worth every penny. Don't believe it? Even my 72 year old arthritic mother-in-law has no problem opening bottles of wine! If you don't believe me, order one for yourself and give it a try, you can always send it back (but I'm betting you won't!) Oh, and the next time you host a party, be sure to put your best bottles of wine in a safe place!
The only way to open a wine bottle June 19, 2008 This is a light, well made opener that i hope will last longer than the cheap 15 dollar one I bought that worked the same way until it failed (I had it 3 years). It is easy to use, virtually foolproof, and by far the best wine bottle opener out there. Pricey but I hope that the quality is there for the long run. I'd rather spend the money up front rather than have to spend it again later for a cheap unit that doesn't work well.
wine opener April 6, 2008 Best ever! If you love wine, get one. This is made of the best material on the market. Unbelievable quality. It's so easy you'll want to cry! I'd buy one for all of my friends if I had them!!
Sorry I dropped it!! May 11, 2002 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this corkscrew for my husband two years ago and I'd be hard pressed to count (or admit) how many bottles of wine we have opened with it! Unfortunately, this past weekend we had a "Sullivan Reunion" and suffice it to say the opener was working non-stop. However, someone dropped it and the little top piece (like a small screw cap) that is directly below the upper handle snapped off and was lost. I have taken the screwpull to the hardware store to try and fit something else for that piece but to no avail. There are no replacement parts I've seen on line and until I can find one, the thing is useless. I'm open for suggestions! I just need that tiny piece that screws on top which allows the screw part to move up and down. We are disappointed...welcoming any input! We have all this wine and no "fun" opener...imagine our horror.
