Don't try to save 10 bucks, just buy this August 14, 2008 I've had this for a couple months.
Great build quality. I've owned many corkscrews, and this is the best. Buy it. I'm not kidding. You will be glad you did.
Honestly, you will save money anyway, b/c you won't have to buy a new one in a couple years.
Buy it elsewhere August 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this today at Trader Joe's for $5.00. Same brand, same corkscrew. For 5 bucks, who can really complain about it? Just buy it somewhere else or get ripped off.
eh September 30, 2007 Not the highest quality. Could use more teflon on the turns and higher quality metal on the hinges. Very stiff. However, it is still a waiters corkscrew available online at a reasonable price.
This is a great corkscrew September 11, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Every once in awhile, you get a cork that just doesn't want to come loose. I've always preferred the Waiter Style corkscrew, but a conventional one doesn't always get the torque that it takes to get a sticky cork loose (at least without getting your blood pressure up in the process). The two step system on the Pulltap double hinged corkscrew gets that extra bit of torque to get the cork out of the bottle, and then gives you that extra bit of travel it takes to get the cork out of the bottle without bending or cracking it.
The apparently teflon coated screw goes in easy too.
Great corkscrew!
Can't believe I'm going gaga over a corkscrew of all things? July 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a former waitress and wine lover, but certainly not a snob, and as such I've used almost every type of opener under the sun. This is the sweetest little corkscrew opener I've ever used. The hinged design is exactly what's called for and the action is smooth and easy every time. Why would I reach for anything else? This is so uncomplicated, quick and easy (and small which is a consideration in my kitchen).
