Amazon.com Review The miniature Ibis is sized to boil water for one. Its modern Scandinavian design makes it an attractive office companion for boiling water to make tea or coffee. And, with its reasonable price, this kettle travels well to college to make instant noodles in a dorm room. Made of heavyweight polypropelene plastic with a copper-sheathed, nickel-plated heating element, the Mini Ibis holds a maximum of 27 fluid ounces of water (about 3-1/2-cups). It must be filled to a minimum of 7 fluid ounces--just enough to cover the heating element--to operate. Plugging the unit in and flipping up the switch below the kettle's handle turns on the power. The heating process is rapid and quiet: it takes only 4 minutes to boil 27 ounces of water and the sound is almost imperceptible. For safety purposes, the Ibis automatically shuts off after boiling and has a locking lid to prevent spilling and a frosted handle for a secure grip. --Cristina Vaamonde
Product Description This handy electric kettle from Bodum is designed to have a permanent place at the kitchen counter using a minimum of space. Made of a heat-reinforced polypropylene plastic and a stainless steel heating element, it is an indispensable and practical everyday tool for cooking - and certainly when a fast boil is needed. The Bodum water kettle will automatically cut off power after the water boils a short while. No more dry boils!

Great for home & travel! November 25, 2008 Bought this for travel to have in hotel. Light weight, easy to pack. Works fast and does exactly what it says. Boils water in minutes. Have continued to use it at home for tea. The top cover is easy to remove and only boiled water 2x before first use, never having any plastic smell at all. Like that using it rather than microwave. Have only had for 3 weeks, but no problems at all. A rating.
Switch died November 15, 2008 Good while it worked, but that was only for about 5 months. The 'on' switch started flickering from time to time, and now it doesn't work at all. That's why I'm here online... shopping for a replacement!
Nice little kettle October 2, 2008 Just the right size, holds 3 1/2 Cups of water, heats to boiling in 5 minutes, and best of all, the water tastes like water. The kettle itself is a space saving narrow oval shape, lightweight, and perfect for travel.
not what I expected - I returned this. August 31, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered the item, thinking it was a replacement but when I received it, it was not the right item (or size) I returned it and have already received notice of its return. I am pleased with how Amazon handled this. Thank you.
