Several years ago, an article in Wine Spectator magazine noted the importance of a high-quality glass for improving a wine's looks and enhancing its bouquet. However, the magazine lamented, many of the attributes that increase the beauty and value of the glass actually obscure the wine. Spiegelau's Vino Grande series is part of a connoisseur line designed specifically for wine lovers. The thin rim means less distraction from the taste and texture of the wine. Tap the glass gently with your fingernail and you'll hear the distinctive ping of fine crystal. This generously sized wine glass measures 9 inches high and is designed to showcase the Bordeaux region's Cabernet Sauvignons and Merlots. The glasses are billed as dishwasher-safe and are sturdy enough for everyday use, as proven by their use in restaurants. Still, we'd recommend hand washing. --Irene Svete

I ordered 2 sets of 6 glasses over a month ago and only got 1 of glasses. I haven't been able to get a response from wineglassguys nor Amazon.
 Nice wine glasses May 11, 2008
They are a nice set of red wine glasses. They are well made and have a good feel to them. Their design enhances and concentrates the aromas of your fine wine. I have been a fan of Spiegelau wine glasses for some time as they are of good quality and value. I consider Spiegelau to be on a par with any other manufacturer of fine stemware. I also have the Chardonnay and Port stems. The glasses arrived in good condition and were well packed. No worry about breakage.
 A proper drink in a very proper glass January 18, 2008
This line is simply the best all around choice for everyday use. They're beautiful to look at, have nice heft, and provide the perfect stage for any wine you care pour in. You also won't cry a river when one breaks!
All my Reidel's are in pieces, scattered amongst various landfills by now. Stick with these and they'll stick with you! They're fantastic glasses.

These glasses are excellent for their intended purpose. They appear to be sturdy yet classy enough to use on any social occasion. No need to spend lots more money on Reidel glasses that are unlikely to compare in durability.

I bought 12 of these for myself in January and love them. After several blind tastings we even determined the wine actually tastes better in this glass. They feel great in the hand and on the lips.
I have been washing in the dishwasher on gentle, top rack. No problem. They are all still in perfect condition.
Highly recommended!!!!!!
