BALL Complete Book of Home Preserving November 11, 2008 This book is great for beginners or those with little experience in canning - especially pressure canning.
Lots of recipes and instructions though a little higher-priced than I would have thought.
For the experienced canner there is little in this book that you can't find online with a little effort through various recipe websites or other information resources.
If you are just starting or learning the art of canning I recommend the book. However, for the rest of us it isn't worth the expenditure.

In the current economic times canning is making an incredible comeback. This book is the BEST I've seen & the BEST I have in my kitchen's library. It takes one through the steps of successful canning no matter your ability. I've put up fruits & veggies for a few years and was most happy to have this book arrive with the amazing selection of recipes!! Don't let one bit of you garden go to waste - this book gives you all the selections you need at your fingertips.

I just have to second what everyone else has said. I also wanted everyone to know that the Tomato Ketchup recipe is stupendous and so is the Green Tomato Hot Dog Relish. I used up my tomatoes just before the frost. This book is going to be a standard for me each harvest season from now on.
