1 out of 5 stars Ghost?????   November 28, 2008
V was robbed...He missed out on his true love story. He has a fantastic storyline with Butch and all this sexual tension and chemistry. Notice the heat while those two are healing or the banter in the training room,or their protectiveness of each other willingness to sacrifice. That was hot!!! Even the way V is checking Butch's lips out. And the lack of heat with their mates. Marissa and Jane not so much. Jane was okay, a little less developed than some of the other shellans and I liked her feisty attitude and the fact V excited instead of repulsed her with his desires. But people please a ghost...Maybe losing her to Manny or her forgetting him completely but a ghost? It somehow lessens V's status in the series to settle for a ghost. Here's and idea get rid of Jane and Marissa:-)Put him with Butch and write some incredible romantic scenes. V's a freak let him get his freak on!!!

2 out of 5 stars Distasteful.   November 25, 2008

Distasteful. Ward has veered into ugliness as she seeks to be edgey. Main characters in prior boks overcame obstacles; we celebrated their growth. Why must the heroic deteriorate as artists "grow?" I may be finished with this writer/series. V's story glories in nastiness and deviant behaviour. No thanks. I felt unclean afterwards.

5 out of 5 stars So loving V   November 16, 2008
Another brillant installment to the series! I am so loving Vishous..my 2nd favorite of the BDB (Zsadist being the 1st) Ward's Vampire world is one of a kind! Keep them coming...!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great Book   November 11, 2008
I love this book!!!!! She has done it again, but then again would you expect any less from J.R. Ward?

5 out of 5 stars If you loved Z's story, you'll ADORE V's!!!   November 10, 2008
I was honestly worried that books 4 and 5 in this series would decrease in romantic quality given many of the reviews and criticisms I'd read. I didn't need to worry at all! These two books work together wonderfully to explore the relationship between Butch and V as well as giving them the time and opportunity to find the love that will heal them both. V is similarly tortured as Z was and that internal shame, conflict and sense of self-loathing is one of the things that really got these 2 brothers deep in my heart and hoping they would find the woman who could see the man behind the scars and restore his sense of worth. Jane is the woman who has the brains and bravery to meet V on an equal footing, despite his Dom tendencies. Don't let references to V's BDSM activities scare you off this book, it's really not as graphic as many erotica books dealing in this arena that I've read. It's even pretty tame compared to many romances of that bent. But it's not tame in terms of steamy scenes, it's HOT and completely in character for both hero and heroine. There's also much to be learned in this book about the world Ward has created and several characters' stories are nicely advanced and developed without sacrificing the primary love story between Jane and V. An immensely satisfying read!
