Product Description
Here are the facts: The United States has released 425 terrorists from Guantanamo, at least 50 of whom have returned to the battlefield to fight our troops. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both say they're fiscally responsible. But each has called for $1 trillion in tax increases over the next ten years—and dressed them up as tax cuts! Mainstream Media has been given marching orders from the Society of Professional Journalists: never refer to "Islamic terrorists" or "Muslim terrorists." And they are obeying! Whenever our brave agents disrupt a terror plot, The media dismisses the culprits as a gang of idiots—lulling us into a false sense of security. If the liberals win the 2008 election, they will cripple talk radio—forcing stations to give equal time to left-wing programs, and insisting that liberals play a key role in station management. Up to a quarter of all state pension funds in the United States are invested in companies that are helping Iran, Syria, North Korea, or the Sudan—for a total of nearly $200 billion. The Do-Nothing Congress is still doing nothing—and the worst offenders are the presidential candidates Clinton, Obama, and McCain, who never show up for their day jobs as senators . . . except to pick up their $165,000 paycheck! Is it any wonder that Americans feel fleeced at every turn? As more and more critical problems develop that need national attention, the White House and Congress appear to be AWOL. Who's calling the shots instead? Big business, big government, big labor, and big lobbyists. And their self-serving agendas are doing nothing to help the ever-increasing number of American people who are losing their homes, paying credit card interest rates higher than 25 percent, and finding their jobs increasingly outsourced to foreign countries. In this hard-hitting call to arms, Dick Morris and Eileen McGann reveal the hundreds of ways American tax-payers are routinely fleeced—by our own government; by foreign countries like Dubai that are gobbling up American interests and spending millions to influence government decisions and American public opinion; by Washington lobbying firms that are pushing the agendas of corrupt foreign dictators on Capitol Hill; and by hedge-fund billionaires collecting huge tax breaks courtesy of the IRS. With their characteristic blend of sharp analysis and insider insight, Morris and McGann call offenders of all kinds on the carpet—and offer practical agendas we all can follow to help turn the tide.

Wazzup? September 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Words of Wazzupery from the Duke of Dimwit! Can you trust a man that held rendezvous with ladies of the night in a fleebag Washington DC hotel and let them listen into phone conversations he had with President Clinton? Well, NO! Anyone that loses an argument to Bill O'Reilly and has to buy him dinner, can't have much to add to any political debate. You decide.
Factual Revelations and Information September 1, 2008 The fact that the American public is being "Fleeced" by our own government, elected officials, our banks, big business, the lying liberal media and the world, in general, is not news; Dick and Eileen have just confirmed it! This should make me feel "better"- -knowing that I'm not imagining all of this; not being hypersensitive, or overly imaginative, as my family seems to think. Dick and Eileen have done a great job of research and fact finding and made it an intense and interesting read, even for a novice "political activist, like myself! Honestly, I would recommend it be "required reading" for every high school and college social studies and economics class! My greatest wish- - that every voting American will read it before November elections!
Well worth your money & your time August 30, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The author Dick Morris used to work for President Clinton and he knows what is going on in Washington and Politics. This Book is very informitive. We all need to know what the major media is omiting. We have the right to know what is going on in our government that they do not want to tell us!! A GOOD BOOK!
Bitter Bathos August 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I suspect if I were consumed by the pathological hatred of Bill and Hillary Clinton that Dick Morris admittedly is then Fleeced would make more sense, carry more weight and frankly, be far more persuasive. The topics from Health Care to Media Bias are all ripe for a no holds barred examination in a "let the facts lead wherever they might" approach...
... it is unfortunate that Morris knee-caps himself at every turn.
Morris writes as he talks with all the subtlety of a Molotov cocktail and consciously or not, manages to infuse almost every chapter and argument (no matter how salient) with an almost comical and circuitous return to the all-encompassing shadow of his former employers. This is a shame since Fleeced is a book based on personal sensibilities that I really wanted to embrace.
Still a worthy, if embittered, read.
May not like Morris but liked the book, excellent info August 28, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The information within this book should be a required reading of all in politics on how not to govern. Of course, it is an example of how to spend and get your way in our government. Even worse in respects to the Obama info is the lacking of experience, the media in the tank views that have smoked screened the voters about the real Obama.
