Lesbian writers from Dorothy Allison to Jewelle Gomez, Kate Bornstein to Alison Bechdel, tell us how to make gumbo, chili, pasta, and brownies. But the more immediate tastiness here is perusing the chatty, personal, and informative sidebars to their food tips. The joy of cooking comes not only from what ends up on the plate, but the love and care that go into it.
