Very Useful Tool Even For small Budgets April 7, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The number one thing I love about this book is does not give a cookie cutter approach to party planning. The ideas in the book are edgy, original and very doable. Yes, there are some very large budget ideas in here but any of them can be scaled down for someone hosting a party at their home. The book is very to the point, not wordy and it is really a great tool. Lots of bullets and lists so you can grab what you want to know. The stories about the celebrity parties they threw are meant to inspire you to think out the box when it comes to food, decor and venue.

For a guy who knows nothing about planning an event, I felt that this book was truly helpful. I bought this book because I decided to throw a birthday party for a friend of mine and while I pride myself on being able to pick a great wine I don't know the first thing about throwing a creative party. Fete Accompli helped me come up with a theme, create a cool invite and throw a great party...within my budget. For someone who needs guidance with all aspects of an event this is the book for you .. The best part is you can pick & choose what you need help with ..

I'M IMPRESSED !!!!!!! October 19, 2005 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
What can I say ? This book has it all for me.. Brilliant ideas, incredible tips, fantastic photos and recipes. Besides being inspired to have a party right this second i was fascinated about reading about this company and all they are capable of. I bought this book because last month I had a dinner party and while it was chic and intimate I felt as if something was missing. I needed to add a little something to my regular menu and decor ... and now I have thousands of options. Thank you Lara & elizabeth.
